The Wildlife Conservation Society contacted me to design posters for their WCS Community Partnerships Wildlife Speaker Series.

These “Get to Know Your Wildlife Neighbors” events are a series of wildlife talks held across Southwest Montana in the summer. They feature experts on the various species, and often even live animals. Plus there’s usually a community barbeque or ice cream social before or after the presentation.

For the summer of 2015, WCS needed seven posters for the individual events, plus one poster that listed all of the events. Each presentation is in a different community on a different species, so I wanted each poster to have its own personality. At the same time, it needed to be clear that they were all part of a series.

I’ve always loved the vintage screen-print style national park posters. I felt like the message for these wildlife events was similar, so I decided to replicate the style. I used vintage style fonts and a muted color palette with dramatic, cutout-style artwork of each species. I think they ended upbeing a great mix of vintage style and modern feel.
