This project was huge for me. Joe at Montana Troutstalkers asked me to design some alternative branding/t-shirts for his fly shop. He’s a huge Grateful Dead fan, and since this summer was the 50th anniversary of the Dead, he had his heart set on some Dead-style skeletons in a drift boat, with “Driftin & Dreamin” (a snippet of lyrics from this Dead song).
Nevermind that I’d never drawn a skeleton before, nor did I know enough about fly fishing to get all the details right. But Joe was kind enough to coach me on the fishing gear (even providing a photo of the exact boat he wanted), and I have to say that I’m going to add skeleton-drawing to my resume now!
