Scott asked me to make a poster for the summer concerts at the Gravel Bar. He’s always up for something wild and freeform, so I jumped at the opportunity for complete creative freedom (even though I was a little nervous about the expectations for greatness–his previous posters have been epic).
I wanted to evoke the feeling of summer nights in Montana, so I went for a freeform drawing of mountains, with a Starry-nights style swirling blue sky above, and the text in the sky. I added playful hand-drawn stars & arrows, and hand drew the dominant text to give it all a wild, free feeling, which is pretty much how concert nights at the G are.
